Composted vs Non-composted Plant

Image
Non-composted plant I planted this soon to be avocado tree 2 months ago. Our backyard soil is basically gravel far from the ideal for growing anything. Somehow, we have managed to grow some plants but the problem is the plants easily get sick and eventually die. The best we've grown so far is one lonesome papaya tree but it eventually died when it reached 5 feet. It gave us a couple of papaya fruits. But that's it. I also tried planting my herbs (three types of basil and oregano. I also included sweet potatoes, essentially for the tops alone. But no go. Composted plant And then there was this corner in our backyard where grass and weeds were growing like anything. I dedided to make a compost out of the mangoes that fell from our neighbor's tree. There were so many of them I could have made several liters of mango jam. Problem is it was the indian mango variety. The compost was actually just a small pit where, I threw all our veggie and fruit scrapings from avocado, kala

Parlez vous Francais?

Marikina City again at its finest

"Marikina and seven other urban areas have been declared model cities, making them a good place to live in, work in and do business with", according to The Philippine Star, a local broadsheet. This after having "complied with the Public Governance System and Scorecard (PGS), which was patterned after the 'balanced scorecard' of Harvard Business School. PGS measures a local government unit's competitive infrastructure, responsible citizenship, growth in the per capita gross domestic product and productivity". I am proud to say that I am a citizen of Marikina. This "city of mabubuting loob", where I reside belong to that group "dubbed as Dream Cities", aiming to, soon become Southeast Asia's model city in terms of competitiveness. I bet ya! Marikina can compete in terms of good governance, superior public service and taking care of the entrepreneur. Hep hep hooray! From the Ibanag Marikina dweller! Cheers!

Others On Line

Again, I got into this new community. I haven't done much work. That's why I have no readers/viewers yet. Halooo? Anybody there from the Others Also there is something wrong with my profile here. It says I am 30 years old. I wish! But I certainly am not. My eldest, a daughter is already 30 years old. I had tried to edit this element but it simply would not allow correction. Arrrgh!

Poor boy, poor girl,

'To be poor is no crime but to wittingly or unwittingly allow "30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.” That is about 210,000 children each week, or just under 11 million children under five years of age, each year.' Do we even care?
