Time to start thinking nothing but Bologna..whopee

Since I am really determined to go to Bologna, Italy this year, I have to learn as much as I can about the place, primarily its language -- the language of The Godfather :-) No kidding. But first where is Bologna, Italy? I saw several sites and these were what I gathered. "Bologna is the largest city in the Emilia-Romagna region, situated between Tuscany and Veneto . Bologna is a jewel of northern Italy , an elegant and sophisticated university town considered by many to be the gastronomic capital of the country. Bologna is a well-preserved medieval city rich with beautiful cathedrals, towers, piazzas and charming narrow streets, painted in dark red and orange colors typical of Northern Italy . Bologna is home to Europe 's oldest university, the alma mater of such classical authors as Dante and Petrarch. It is also a contemporary center of student life, popular with young Italians. With relatively fewer foreign tourists, Bologna is an authentic Italian city. For those

This is my ultimate desire. I want the Macbook Air

Image
"During his Macworld Expo keynote address on Tuesday morning, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the MacBook Air, a computer that the company billed as the world's thinnest notebook -- small enough to fit inside an interoffice mailing envelope. It's priced starting at $1,799 and will be available within two weeks. Sporting a silvery finish, the MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The backlighting saves power and provides "instant on" response from the moment you turn it on, according to Jobs. The device has a slightly wedge-shaped profile. It weighs about 3 pounds, and sports a thickness of 0.16-0.76 inches. It's 12.8 inches wide and 8.95 inches deep. The MacBook Air also features a built-in iSight webcam and a full sized MacBook-style black keyboard. The keyboard is backlit, similar to MacBook Pros, and has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness. The trackpad is also capa

Yes, for 2008, I am planning to use videos for my blogs. It's been a lifelong dream to get this opportunity. So first I go to this page to learn mostly everything about You Tube. After soaking myself with info from the YT site I am going to borrow my son's Nokia' s high tech mobile phone which I understand can shoot videos -- just to see the actual application of what I learned from the You tube site. If we need to learn more about this mobile cum video taking phone, let's check this out. More here and here .

The power of blogging. Freedom of expression unheard of in Saudi Arabia?

I believe that bloggers have reached a status of credence that they now starting to be hounded for their views, comments or criticisms. Read something about this here . I grew curious about what it is about this blogger's posts that raised the authorities' ire. So I checked it out his blog. Apparently, he was arrested by Saudi authorities for writing "unsavory" remarks about the government. There is growing attention worldwide to help him and his cause. If you want to participate, visit here .

Wanted Google Policy Fellows

For those of you who might be interested to become a Google fellow check the following out: "As lawmakers around the world become more engaged on Internet policy, ensuring a robust and intelligent public debate around these issues becomes increasingly important. That’s why we’re launching the Google Policy Fellowship Program—to support students and organizations working on policy issues fundamental to the future of the Internet and its users. Think of it as the public policy version of Google's Summer of Code . The Google Policy Fellowship program offers undergraduate, graduate, and law students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer contributing to the public dialogue on these issues, and exploring future academic and professional interests."
