Living and Eco waste management

If you need help in converting waste to energy try N-Viro I wouldn't wish what happened to us even to my worst enemy. Parts of our country was devastated with Typhoon Ondoy flooding in September of 2009. Most of Metro Manila, including the city where I live, Marikina,  was almost totally submerged in muddy flood waters. It was rumored that the flooding was not really caused by the rains from the typhoon. Some say that the untimely release of water from the dams, located in Northern Luzon,  all four of them,  caused the overflow down spiraling to Central Luzon, and then on to the National Capital Region;. What was not said by the authorities? The water was accompanied mostly by waste from the overflowing  landfills situated in the Eastern portion of Metro Manila. I saw with my own eyes, the mind-boggling  amount of garbage that wreaked havoc into the homes located in Provident Village, where our home was.. stinky and dirty muddy flood waters. Could i...

Living and A Video Game called Project Runway?

For about US$20 you can play project runway on your PC. In much the same way it is played in  actual TV show segments,  users will have to construct or design  clothes (choices provided by the game), pick your own make up for a model and present it on the site's virtual catwalk. Again, just like the show, the clothes will be represented virtually, with celebrity jurors  rendering  their respective judgements. It would be interesting to see how this game works. Something the owners can make money from, I bet.  But unlike the  TV presentation,  drama may not be trully captured in the game version. Atari developed the game as licensed by the Weinstein Company, owners of the TV show, Project Runway. It is said to be targetting girls aged 6 to 12. This seems to be an inappropriate app for the target market. Just saying. Check out the news link here .

Living with Earthquakes

Just Now,  6.1 Earthquake in Aparri, Cagayan Because the Philippines is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, I am always nervous to hear of earthquakes occuring of  this origin. Just now the radio announced that Cagayan province shook from a 6.1 earthquake. It was a blessing that the earthquake occurred over the seas and did not touch  land. A  6.1  measure is something that  can not be put aside. So,  how is the Philippines'  disaster preparedness capability? Has it been updated? No one is telling us.  Can ordinary citizens like us trust this  government that they have done their homework? I wish Senator Gordon was already our President and Bayani Fernando his VP.  Two people,  tried and tested for their managerial and executive skills in dealing with disasters. Will this just remain a wish? I hope to God,   not.

Living a dangerous life in Haiti and now in Chile

Please Lord,  Almighty God protect the Philippines and the rest of the world from catastrophic situations such as the one that happened recently to Haiti,  and just yesterday  in Chile. CNN says there's more than a hundred dead and still counting in Chile. Towards the afternoon, the tsunami alert remains  in most Pacific islands. Is something like the film 2012 really forthcoming? Only YOU Lord Jesus help us!

Living with the thought that the time to change is now

I am reprinting below some of the articulated plans of the Gordon-Bayani tandem regarding corruption and its attendant issues. Please feel free to pass this on to your friends. We need to help disseminate  all  information available so we can elect the right officials who will govern this country for the next 6 years. An informed citizenry is required to save this country from further ruin. Dear Friends, Now that the campaign for president and vice-president is in full swing, Gordon and Bayani need you to join them in transforming our country. Together we will build a new future, without corruption and dishonesty, a future of opportunity, jobs and development. With your help success is guaranteed. The first step is to eradicate corruption, the cancer that is eating away at the fiber of our society. Gordon and Bayani have a three-point plan which will clean the Philippines of corruption in three years. 1. Elected ombudsman Politicians are able to go on stealing from ...

Living with Funny Candidates

C'mon now, are you running for office in the 2010 Philippine Elections? Tere's a video of a candidate in the Q.C elections being interviewed by Mo Twister, a radio and TV celebrity. Candidates out there, please DO NOT  follow her footsteps. She says, she gets depressed watching the news. And that's her reason for not knowing what the implications of a private army are? So what is her business trying to get elected for a public office? Does she think public service is nice, cozy and rosy? Pleassssse! If candidates continue to be like her, God help the Philippines.
