A view from my living room window

Communities are of varied temperaments much like the people who inhabit them. Where we are right now, I must admit, I am not too happy. No offense meant to the patron saint of the place, people here seem not to care for each other. Absolutely, lacking is the warmth, that most villages like this are expected to exude. A lone neighbor however, seems to be too friendly for comfort. When we just moved here, and those were the last quarter of that year, a couple of lay people made their best effort to invite us for church activities. Unfortunately, the timing was a little off. Almost six years later, this year, I kind of regret not having shared and welcomed that invitation. Or do I? Because I found out that the reason why there seems to be no fun at all among neighbors, is the fact that, there are three home owners associations around --- and they are all fighting with each other. Each to his own :-( Anyway, when days seem lonely and whenever I find myself alone, I sit by my fa...

Another SM Supermall in Marikina City

Image
I took this photo when I happened to pass by Marikina City Riverbanks last week. Riverbanks is some sort of a mini mall where you can shop from branded stores and 'tiangge' types, as well. There is a bookstore, an appliance store, a supermarket, plenty of food shops, from Jollibee to Tropical Hut as well as other retail stores catering to different needs and various markets. On the foreground is the famous squeaky clean Marikina River. And that large block of building is the new and soon to open SM Super Mall . The other buildings on the farthest right, I believe is Eastwood , actually located at nearby Quezon City. Marikenyos are excited about SM's opening, I am sure. It is touted to occupy 60,000 sq meters of land and shall maintain a floor area equivalent to 124,877.85 (one of Henry Sy's spacier malls). And to this effect I suppose Riverbanks (t oo bad I forgot to take a photo of the place), will just be a thing of the past? Me? I am more worried about the traf...

Most Lawyers

The omnipresent defender of non-existent people problems. Somebody who "made it" by sneaking under the fence, then took it upon himself to assume the role of the chief skimmer. The best time to engage the services of a lawyer is when you want to backout of a deal but embarrassed to do so on your own. And great way to seriously close a deal is to keep your attorney in his cage.
