Used to be bust lift, , now it is butt lift

Are you willing to wear one of this? It is supposed to lift sagging butts :-) For US$30, you can get a 'biniki', for a betterlooking butt, even if you really don't have one :-)

According to genius beauty "butt bra has been developed in the States. American psychologist Karin Hart registered the patent for her invention called Biniki. Hart says her extraordinary bra is going to make a saggy butt look real good. Narrow straps of a new bra go around your waist and fasten under your buttocks, lifting them to create the image of athletic and neat figure".

And that furthermore, "with unaffordable cosmetic surgery and wide scars left after buttocks lift, Hart challenged herself to create an underwear that could replace the effects of surgery. Searching for the best design idea, she stood in front of the mirror and tried a few options using self-adhesive tape until she found a successful one. Butt bra lifts and holds up the muscles where they need it, Hart explains".

But of course they also have something for the menfolk, something called 'maniki' :-0

Something for 2009? Hur! Hur!

How much CO2 are you generating for your Google searches?

I found this information on my google reader subscription. The Official Google Blog is basically stating that Google is doing its share in making every Google search as energy efficient as possible because:

"In terms of greenhouse gases, one Google search is equivalent to about 0.2 grams of CO2. The current EU standard for tailpipe emissions calls for 140 grams of CO2 per kilometer driven, but most cars don't reach that level yet. Thus, the average car driven for one kilometer (0.6 miles for those in the U.S.) produces as many greenhouse gases as a thousand Google searches".

And Google as an organization is:

"working with other members of the IT community to improve efficiency on a broader scale. In 2007, we co-founded the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, a group which champions more efficient computing. This non-profit consortium is committed to cutting the energy consumed by computers in half by 2010 — reducing global CO2 emissions by 54 million tons per year. That's a lot of kettles of tea".

Furthermore, Google. org, started the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. What is the Climate Savers Computing Initiative?

"Started by Google and Intel in 2007, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative is a nonprofit group of eco-conscious consumers, businesses and conservation organizations. The Initiative was started in the spirit of WWF’s Climate Savers program which has mobilized over a dozen companies since 1999 to cut carbon dioxide emissions, demonstrating that reducing emissions is good business. Our goal is to promote development, deployment and adoption of smart technologies that can both improve the efficiency of a computer’s power delivery and reduce the energy consumed when the computer is in an inactive state.

As participants in the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, computer and component manufacturers commit to producing products that meet specified power-efficiency targets, and corporate participants commit to purchasing power-efficient computing products".

Thanks to this site for these snippets of information.

Now, that leads me to - think and calculate how much CO2 emissions are generated every time I make those loads of google searches :-)

What about you?

Young, Jon Favreau schooled by Jesuits

Thanks to The Guardian the site where I found this information about President Obama's inagural speech writer.

Also noted: Mr Jon Favreau was schooled by the Jesuits of The College of the Holy Cross. Holy Cross is an undergraduate Roman Catholic liberal arts college located in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA and considered to be 'the oldest Roman Catholic college in New England and one of the oldest in the United States'.

Meanwhile, I reprint snippets from The Guardian article here:

Jon Favreau, 27, is, as Obama himself puts it, the president's mind reader. He is the youngest chief speechwriter on record in the White House, and, despite such youth, was at the centre of discussions of the content of today's speech, one which has so much riding on it.

Obama has leant on Favreau, whom he discovered almost by chance four years ago when the younger man was working on John Kerry's failed presidential bid. "Favs" has since studied Obama's speech patterns and cadences with the intensity of a stalker. He memorised the 2004 speech to the Democratic national convention which first brought Obama into the limelight. He is said to carry Obama's autobiography, Dreams From My Father, wherever he goes.As a result, last November when Favreau sat down to write the first draft of the inaugural address, he could conjure up his master's voice as if an accomplished impersonator.

That skill had been put to almost daily use in the 18 months of brutal campaigning on the presidential trail. Favreau would be up most nights until 3am, honing the next day's stump speeches in a caffeine haze of espressos and Red Bull energy drinks, taking breaks to play the video game Rock Band. He coined a phrase for this late-night deadline surfing: "crashing".

He crashed his way through all Obama's most memorable speeches. He wrote the draft of one that helped to turn Iowa for Obama while closeted in a coffee shop in Des Moines. For the presidential election, he wrote two speeches: one for a victory, one for defeat. When the result came through, he emailed his best friend: "Dude, we won. Oh my God."

President Obama as a symbol of hope

In a couple of hours, the first African-American President shall assume his duly constituted office.

President Barack Obama's ascendancy to power is historic and recognized as a truly global event, even hoping to surpass the 1.2 Billion worldwide viewers of Princess Diana's burial.

Its significance lie mostly in the fact that racial descrimination, if only ideally shall be a thing of the past. Doesn't it seem just yesterday, when colored people suffered due to the color of their skin?

President Obama, including most of his young supporters, represent hope and change. Things happen for a reason, and only if the mind is determined. If this is any indication of how the young today 'do their thing', then I believe in my heart, that the future will be better for generations yet unborn.

It is a pity, the baby boomer generation wasn't able to put up to it. Sigh! It doesn't matter really, as long as the world looks brighter.

For the unbelievers out there, do I need to apologize for being overwhelmingly hopeful?

Cheers!
